DH review
I finished reading DH on Saturday and her are some thoughts on it,
I loved it.
The book was really amazing, a lot better than I expected it to be.
Draco was already in the first chapter and he fell of his chair....great!!!
Really liked the way Harry talked with the Dursleys and how he had to explain everything over and over again. I also think that Dudley´s: "I don´t think you are a waste of space" was really sweet. He didn´t have a total change of heart but it was something like a apology.
The seven Potters...loved it. It was great when they all started to change and Harry was like WTF is going on. Then they were attacked and Hedwig...poor Hedwig and Voldemort could fly...how cool was that (want to see that in the movie).
George´s ear is cursed of and what do they do?.....they joke about it....love them. I loved the suspense while waiting for everybody to get back and then the toast ot Moody, really great.
Hermione put a charm on her parents and Ron with his ghoul, this was a sign for me that they really thought about what it means going with Harry. I also think Molly´s attempt to hinder the trio from going is frustrating but I understand it on the same time.
Ron´s birthday present to Harry was really funny and so typically Ron. Ginny wanted to give Harry something to remember her...I think we all know what she was talking about.
The wedding was great, Barney Weasley!! Viktor showed up and Luna recognizing Harry. Liked the back story about Dumbledore, he lived in Godrics Hollow.
Loved the scene in the Muggle cafe and then they went to Grimmauld Place and Hermione suggesting that they all sleep in the same room (trio fic anyone?)
Sirius bedroom was really how I would have imagined it to be , the letter from Lily was amazing and Kreacher I really started to feel sorry for him. Regulus sacrificing himself was....wow, really tragic.
Remus married to Tonks and she is pregnant, well now we know why they married. The fight between Harry and Remus was really strange but I liked it nonetheless. Kreacher is great, I like him more and more, thats crazy!!!
The trio isolated in a tent somwhere in the woods with only themselves as company and a horcurx around their neck....it couldn´t work. They started to get frustrated at each other, or Ron and Hermione at Harry, they started to fight and Ron was gone. It took a while till he came back, didn´t expect that.
Godric´s Hollow that chapter was so sad and emotional, I really loved it. It was great to see Harry at his parents graves on Chrismas Eve with all that snow lying around. I also really liked the statue of the Potters in town.
Bathilda and Nagini was really creepy and we finally saw what exactly happend that night. Harry´s wand is broken!!!
Loved the Harry/Ron hug and Hermione is like a sister to Harry!!!
Harry obsessed with the Hallows is like his Draco obsession in HBP. Potterswacht really great!!! Harry broke the Taboo. Draco not selling them out was really interesting.
Dobby is dead, can´t say I liked him all that much but I´m really sad for Harry. The funeral was really intense and sad. Harry has Draco´s wand!!!
Gringotts was interesting and I know why I didn´t like Griphook.
Neville all beaten up and leading the DA, liked it. Really liked that Harry asked them for help, even it took convincing.
And McGonagall, wow, loved her!!! She didn´t question Harry she trusted him.
Ron/Hermione kiss, one word: finally!!! And Harry reminding them that this is not the time for it.
Hary saving Draco from the RoR on his broom.
And Fred is dead, I was really afraid that one of the twins would die :-(
Snape died, we were all prepared. And I always know he was on the side of the light, didn´t want to believe otherwise. The whole Snape/Lily thing was ok, I really didn´t mind it at all. I really liked it that they knew each other before Hogwarts, made it even better for me.
It is really sad when Harry thinks about dying, he was so brave. And his question to Sirius "Does it hurt?" really great. I didn´t know how the book would end but I wasn´t the least bit worried because Harry was dead. Strange!?
I loved Harry playing dead and then Narcissa checked him...great!! They just want to survive. Really loved the final battle. It was amazing, don´t really know what I should say about it.
The epilogue was ok, I expected something like it and it was not too long or detailed so...it´s ok. I think we will read a lot of fics which will ignore it ;-)
That´s it! No more canon.
